Conservation Framing

Also known as preservation framing is a method of matting and framing that preserves your artwork. The materials and methods used in preservation framing won’t cause any harm to your piece of art, and will help maintain its original condition for a long time. High quality materials such as ultraviolet filter glass and 100% cotton or lignin-free and buffered boards, are standard components of a preservation framing package which help to prolong your artworks life by securing it in a physically and chemically stable package. The level of preservation framing should be determined by you based on whether the piece is of sentimental value, an investment, or just a decorative piece. The first two should be conservation framed, while decorative pieces can be handled in any fashion.
